EBC Brakes GD7047 3GD Series Dimpled and Slotted Sport Rotor. The latest in sport rotors features wide aperture slots that draw cool air into the braking contact area and reduce temperatures preventing brake fade. Dimple drilling avoids stress cracks and the new gold anodized EBC finish provides great looks whilst preventing corrosion. EBC sport rotors now feature reduced 3 slot venting which provides slightly less air noise under heavy braking whilst still maintaining the benefits of cooler running with the full width slot design. The design of these rotors means that some wind noise is observed and if drivers feel they would find this offensive they are advised to select the quieter USR Ultimax series or the EBC plain rotor. Another great feature of slotted rotors is the way they maintain flat and parallel pad wear and avoid the record grooves or galling common with non-slotted rotors. This improves pad contact and braking throughout the life of the rotor and pad set.

The slotted surface also greatly improves wet weather braking by preventing hydroplaning between the pad and rotor. The slots on SP Performance Brake Rotors are machined to the minimum thickness. This is done to insure that the rotor strength is not compromised, keeping safety and reliability in mind for virtually all automotive cars and trucks. This is a bolt-on, hassle free way to greatly improve your stopping performance.

These rotors are electro-plated with a bright Silver Zinc Finish to give a more appealing look. Electro-plating forms a metallurgical bond between the plating and steel, forming an iron rich alloy with tenacious bond where it will form its own protective oxide layer. Electro- plating is very effective in combating the corrosion of the rotor .

92-93 Mercedes 500E - Front Cross Drilled and Slotted Rotors - SP Performance Cross Drilled and Slotted Brake Rotors are a unique design offering the best combination of cooling and out-gassing. Special features include the exclusive SP Sinusoid Curve chamfer that has no edge. This is accomplished by the use of an outer radius curve rather than a countersink. The radius curve virtually eliminates any edge on the surface of the hole. With no edge, there is less stress build up, thus reducing the chance of surface checking. This smooth surface also makes the rotor more pad friendly by reducing the wear of the pad caused by the friction scraping against a sharp edge.

Each rotor is coated with SP's flat gray ZRC. It provides long-lasting protection against corrosion in the most hostile salt-water environments. After being applied, ZRC provides the highest level of galvanic protection. The film of ZRC is conductive. After the coating heats up during use, it bonds permanently to the metal surface. It will not allow the metal to corrode, even when the surface is scratched.
